Head Coach Richie Williams
“I thought the first half we could have been stronger, it wasn’t one of our better halves of soccer. The wind was very strong out there today and it was difficult for us to play. You could tell we were more effective when we played more direct than behind them which was a factor that impacted us in the first half.
I thought our competitiveness could have been a little bit better in the first half but where we lacked in the first half we made improvements on in the second half. We continued to play our game and started to create some chances, we had some better possession and kept battling until the end.”
Moving forward to New York
“We had seven or eight young guys with us today and that is only going to help with their development by getting them more and more experience. This time we had Jack Villatoro and Bryang Kayo come into the match in the second half and gain valuable experience. I thought they came in and did a really great job for us for their first apperance. We have other young guys that are getting a full 90 minutes of professional experience as well.
The way our team is structured there are always going to be changes in our lineup but we have to be able to adapt and it is great to be able to get these young guys this professional experience. We will continue to improve, develop and get ourselves organized for next week against New York.”
Forward Connor Presley
“I thought the second half we came out and we played well. We had some good combinations and created some chances as a team. There are always things to improve on while we are still getting used to playing with each other. We need to focus and practice hard this week to be ready for our next match."
