Loudoun United (1-8-3, 6 pts.) will return to Segra Field to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC for their 13th match of the 2020 USL Championship season on Saturday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m. EST.
The Red-and-White will look to pick up their first points against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday night in the third match between the two sides this season.
In their last match, Loudoun United were shutout by Philadelphia Union II. The Union II started bright by scoring two goals in the opening 20 minutes. The young Loudoun United side improved after the break, continuing to control the bulk of the possession and creating multiple goal scoring opportunities through Kairou Amoustapha, Josh Fawole, and second half sub, Massimo Ferrin. Reigning USL Player of the Week, goalkeeper, Simon LeFebvre, did his best to keep the Red-and-White in the game, making several key saves, but the match ended 4-0 to the hosts.
The young Red-and-White side will look to translate their good play and dominance of the ball into a result this weekend when they face Group F leaders, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
The top two teams from each group in the regular season will advance to the 2020 USL Championship Playoffs, producing a field of 16 teams overall in a regionalized single-elimination bracket. Group winners will be paired with Group runners-up in the Round of 16, with home-field advantage being determined by record for the remainder of the bracket.
The match will be broadcast on ESPN+ with coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. EST
