Four Loudoun United players earned USL Championship Team of the Week honors for Week 6. Following a dominant team performance, forward Zach Ryan, midfielder Kalil ElMedkhar and defender Koa Santos have been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 6 of the 2023 regular season. In addition, Gaoussou Samaké has been named to USL Championship Team of the Week Bench for Week 6.
Forward Zach Ryan was instrumental in the 3-0 win over Birmingham Legion, contributing a goal and an assist. This is his third appearance on USL Team of the Week this season, recording four chances created and completing 2 of 2 dribbles. Ryan leads the team in goals and assists on the year.
Midfielder Kalil ElMedkhar opened his account, scoring his first goal for the Red-and-White in the 42nd minute. ElMedkhar also recorded his second assist of the season. The 23-year-old had four shots and five chances on the night.
Defender Koa Santos had a stellar all-around performance in Loudoun’s 3-0 victory against Birmingham Legion FC, recording one assist and four chances created while contributing four clearances, two interceptions and nine recoveries.
Defender Gaoussou Samaké was part of a dominant defensive display against Birmingham Legion FC. The Ivorian recorded 88 touches, four successful dribbles, six recoveries and five interceptions.
The Red-and-White are back at home this weekend, playing host to Oakland Roots to Segra Field on Sunday, April 23 with kickoff slated at 4 p.m. ET.
