Head Coach Ryan Martin on staying unbeaten at Segra Field:
“It feels incredible. We want to make this a fortress and a place that teams do not want to come. We want to be a dominating team and we want to go after teams, so for me, I’m incredibly proud of the way the guys continue to compete. Detroit is a very good team, well-coached, very good players, and very good defensively, so to score three goals against them is a huge testament to the guys’ resilience and their ability to respond in tough moments. We know it’s not going to be easy, every match is difficult, but plus three and we keep moving.”
Captain Zach Ryan on the team’s ability to bounce back in tough moments:
“They tested us, and I think we tested ourselves as well. We made it difficult for ourselves in key moments towards the end of the first half and a couple moments where we could have kept the ball and maybe taken the pressure off ourselves. The attitude of the guys to respond to their goal and then their equalizer was remarkable, and I think the belief that we were going to find the next goal needed to get those three points helped us find this victory. It was not easy, they are a good side with a lot of experienced players and quality, but we just stuck together and it worked out, so absolutely huge outcome, it feels really good.”
