Loudoun United Goalkeeper Earl Edwards
On first shutout in club’s history:
I knew it was going to be tough coming down here to play against Tampa, they are one of the better teams in the USL. To be able to come down and contribute and help the team get a shutout was an accomplishment for everybody.
Overall team performance:
Defensively I thought we were great, to get a shutout at a place like this is hard to do so I am glad we were able to get that done. Going forward I think we could have been better on the ball but like I said this is a tough place to play so we will take what we got.
The team moving forward:
We have a lot of young guys so I think as we get more experience you’ll see everyone start improve. It is new to a lot of the guys out there and we are new in the league so there is going to be a lot of growing pains but it’s a decent start to the season.

Thoughts on overall team performance:
What a great effort from the team to get a point on the road against Tampa. They are a very strong team physically, as well as quick and aggressive which makes the game very difficult. We have seven players on the field with this being their first year as pros and their third game on top of that, and to be able to go out there and compete and get a point is incredible.
Earl was very solid, he did a great job and is a very experienced goalkeeper. He really helped us especially with our back five he was very consistent. He played some good balls with his feet and helped us organize in the back so it was great to have Earl and we are looking forward to working with him in the future.
Orlando and Jack debut:
I thought they did a great job with their first time with us on the field. They still need to get their full fitness, but they contributed and are great people and great players. We will keep incorporating them in to the team and hopefully they will be a good addition to the team.
