Loudoun local Noah Pilato scored his first goal on Saturday’s match against Charlotte Independence, earning him a spot on the USL Championship Team of the Week honorable mention. The Independence took an early lead in the 11th minute with Enzo Martinez scoring the first goal of the match. Loudoun equalized with Connor Presley’s rifled shot from 25 yards into the left corner of the net. Less than a minute into the second half, Pilato sends a long-range shot deflected off a defender and in front of the goal to find the net, giving Loudoun the lead. Toping the team off with the 3-1 victory, Shinya Kadono scored his first professional goal and scored the final point in the match.

“It feels amazing to score my first professional goal. It was a big goal for the team, to set the tone early in the second half and reward us for our great response from going down early,” forward Noah Pilato stated after the match. “We were then obviously able to keep the pressure on and add a 3rd, ultimately coming out with a huge 3 road points.”

Noah Pilato grew up in Northern Virginia and went to high school at Oakton High School. Pilato played for the D.C. United Academy throughout highschool and was captain for Oakton his senior year. In 2014 Pilato committed to Penn State, scoring his first career goal at Maryland on Oct. 23, 2018 to tie the match and head into overtime.
Pilato is proud to play for the county he grew up in and is an example of a player developing through the “Pathway to Pro” system with the academy, Loudoun United and D.C. United.
