Today marks one year since Loudoun United was officially announced to Loudoun County and the American soccer world.
Over the past 365 days, the club has been part of an amazing initiative to bring professional soccer to Northern Virginia and has thrived in the ever-growing system of USL.
None of this would have been possible without relationships with some amazing local partners who are just as dedicated to the county and the Loudoun United project and as the club is itself.
Loudoun United’s goal as a team is to be a dominant, winning force in USL, but even more important is its goal as a club. The club is here to build the Loudoun community up and help this county blossom in all the ways it continues to show it can.
The new 5,000-seater stadium in Leesburg will hopefully be an epicenter for that local growth, as the club looks to build on the resounding success of this first year.
Loudoun United COO Adam Behnke reflected on this time, saying, “This was just the first step in our journey. We can’t wait to see everyone at the first match at Segra Field on August 9th and we’re looking forward to many more years and successes to come.”
