
Loudoun United will return home to Segra Field to face the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in their ninth match of the 2021 United Soccer League (USL) Championship regular season on Wednesday, June 30 at 7 PM EST. The Red-and-White will look to rebound from a tough loss over the weekend to the Charleston Battery and get back to their winning ways at home on Wednesday night.
In Loudoun United’s last matchup against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds back on June 2, 2021, Loudoun lost 3-2 in an exciting, back-and-forth match with second half goals scored by Jovanny Bolivar and Logan Panchot. Bolivar’s goal came in the 50thminute when he finished off a well-worked team goal that featured a number of quick passes around Pittsburgh’s penalty area. The ball ended up falling to Bolivar right in front of goal, and he finished with a low, driven effort through the goalkeeper’s legs. Loudoun’s second goal came 20 minutes later when Logan Panchot scored his first ever goal for Loudoun United after firing home a first-time shot from outside of the box to bring Loudoun to within one goal of the draw. The Red-and-White were unable to find the third goal and lost the match 3-2.
The match on Wednesday will be the second of four times the two sides will matchup during the 2021 USL Championship regular season. The two teams compete in the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. Loudoun will look to improve on their last result against Pittsburgh and earn three points on Wednesday night.
