Loudoun United FC (LUFC) enter Saturday’s match following a close match against the first-place team in the Western Conference, San Antonio FC, on Aug. 10. D.C. United midfielder and Loudoun United alum, Moses Nyeman, made his second appearance for the Red-and-White and recorded a goal in the 45th minute.
Goalkeeper Luis Zamudio was instrumental on the night, saving four shots including a USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week contender.
Loudoun United FC announced on Thursday, Aug. 11, the signing of midfielder Jean-Christophe Koffi.
The D.C. United Academy product returns to the DMV after recent stints with French club Sète and USL Championship club Memphis 901 FC. The midfielder spent four years with D.C. United Academy from 2011-2015.
After a loss in Atlanta earlier this season, Loudoun United FC look to tie the season series with a win at Segra Field on Saturday.

Atlanta United look to bounce back from a 0-2 loss at Fifth Third Bank Stadium against Miami FC. The team’s record is 4-18-4 with 16 points, sitting them just two points below Loudoun United in the Eastern Conference standings.
With a record of 2-11-0 on the road, Atlanta haven’t won a game on the road in five matches dating back to a 4-3 win at Patriots Point against Charleston Battery.
Tristan Trager and Jackson Conway lead the team with six goals apiece on the season while Raimer leads with four assists. ATL have only shutout their opponents twice in the 2022 USL Championship season. One of those shutouts came against LUFC at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Sat., June 11.
Atlanta United 2’s Noah Cobb has been suspended for one game following his red card for denial of a goalscoring opportunity during his side’s contest against Miami FC on August 13. Efrain Morales has also been suspended for one game for yellow card accumulation following his eighth card of the season against Miami. Cobb and Morales will be unavailable for selection in Atlanta’s contest against Loudoun United FC on Saturday night.
Match Up History
This will be the second matchup between the two clubs this season.
ATL was victorious in the first match, winning 2-0 at home. Raimer scored a penalty in the 32nd minute to put the home side ahead. In a fairly even match, Loudoun United had five shots on target including a penalty that was saved.
Raimer put the game to bed with the completion of his brace in the 95th minute.
Atlanta United 2 currently lead the head-to-head series 2-1-0 but have yet to win at Segra Field in the USL Championship.
