Loudoun United Football Club signs forward Arquímides Ordóñez to a contract through the 2026 season, with an option for 2027.
Leesburg, VA (August 6th, 2025) Loudoun United Football Club has signed forward Arquímides Ordóñez to a deal through the 2026 season, with an option for 2027. The Cincinnati, Ohio native joins the Red-and-White following a stint with Zimbru Chișinău of the Moldovan Liga. Before that, Ordóñez spent time with Swedish side Östersunds FK and MLS club FC Cincinnati.
“I am grateful to be here and work with Coach Martin for the coming seasons,” said Ordóñez. “I think there is a special group of players here at Loudoun United, and with some familiar faces too, it makes me even more excited to be able to play here.”
The 22-year-old forward began his soccer career with Kings Hammer Academy and Cincinnati United Premier before joining the Columbus Crew youth academy in 2016. He later joined FC Cincinnati’s youth academy during their inaugural MLS season in 2019. Ordóñez scored 13 goals in 24 appearances for FC Cincinnati 2, and by July 2021, he had earned a professional contract with FC Cincinnati—the club’s second-ever homegrown signing and the first to debut with the first team.
Between 2021 and 2023, Ordóñez made 20 appearances for Cincinnati before being loaned to Östersunds FK of Sweden’s Superettan league to complete his original contract. In February 2024, he signed with Moldovan Liga side Zimbru Chișinău, where he recorded eight appearances and six goals across all competitions.
“He (Arquímides) has great size, good feet, and reads the game at a very high level. We think he will add to our strong core of attackers,” said Ryan Martin, Head Coach of Loudoun United FC. Arquímides has proven himself at a high level with Guatemala in the Gold Cup, facing the U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT), and has shown to be an exciting attacking player that can play off the dribble.”
Ordóñez represented the Guatemalan U-20 team at the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, where he tallied five goals in six matches and was named to the tournament’s Best XI. He was the only player to score in all three group stage games, helping Guatemala qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Later that year, he earned two senior caps for the Guatemala National Team in international friendlies, debuting against Colombia on Sept. 25, 2022, and making his first start against Honduras two days later.
