Leesburg, VA (August 30th, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club secures all three points in a 3-1 win over Miami FC at Segra Field.
Match Summary
Loudoun United Football Club moves into third place in the Eastern Conference following a 3-1 win over Eastern Conference rivals Miami FC at Segra Field. The Red-and-White currently have 34 points, one point more than North Carolina FC. Loudoun United opened the scoring early in the match when Kwame Awauh crossed a ball into the box that was deflected into the back of the Miami net by Miami defender Jonathan Ricketts (own goal). 20 minutes later, Miami FC found their equalizer from Francisco Bonfiglio, who put a header off the crossbar and into the back of the Loudoun net in the 25th minute. Despite a few close chances, including one off the crossbar by Quimi Ordóñez, the Red-and-White were unable to break the tie and the first half of play would end 1-1.
The second half got underway quickly as well, with Loudoun’s Quimi Ordóñez bagging his third goal in as many games in the 53rd minute of play on an assist from Ben Mines. Loudoun and Miami continued to battle throughout the remainder of the second half, as right as we approached stoppage time, Loudoun’s Omari Glasgow found Zach Ryan, who made the Miami FC goalkeeper miss and doubled the Red-and-White’s lead to 3-1 in the 90th minute of play. The final whistle would blow after five minutes of stoppage time, with Loudoun bagging all three points in a big home win. The Red-and-White are on the road next weekend in El Paso.

“We are very proud of the guy’s performance tonight. We felt like that first half of play was some of the best all season from us, especially with the amount of chances we had. Still some things to clean up on our end, but I loved their attitude and the fight we showed tonight. Next stop, El Paso.
