The Red-and-White were unable to find the back of the net, however, and therefore must wait at least one more week before clinching a first-ever spot in the USL Championship Playoffs. With their winless streak now extended to four matches, Loudoun United will look to take a big three points next weekend against Eastern Conference foe Detroit City FC.
Thoughts from the Club
Head Coach Ryan Martin on falling to Birmingham Legion at home:
“We are disappointed in our start to this match for sure. We lacked quality and focus, which I think was apparent throughout the first half. Our guys rallied in the end, but it wasn’t enough to secure points. Next up is Detroit (City FC), at one of the toughest places to play in the league, so we will learn from this and look to get a big road win next Saturday.”
Notes
Zach Ryan made his 100th appearance for the Red-and-White, making him the first player in club history to achieve 100 matches in a Loudoun United kit.
Zach Ryan will miss next weekend’s matchup against Detroit due to a red card he received in the 94th minute of play.
