Detroit, MI (October 11th, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club clinches its first-ever trip to the USL Championship playoffs following a 1-0 victory over Detroit City FC.
Match Summary
Loudoun United FC move to 12-10-6 and clinch a first-ever club playoff berth in the USL Championship Playoffs following a 1-0 road win over Detroit City FC at Keyworth Stadium. The Red-and-White entered the match against Detroit City without their starting goalkeeper, Hugo Fauroux, forwards Quimi Ordóñez and Zach Ryan, and starting center back Yanis Leerman. In the first half of play, Loudoun tallied four shots (two on target) and gave up zero shots to the opposing side. Neither team was able to get on the score sheet in the first 45 minutes of play at Keyworth Stadium, and the first half would end in a 0-0 draw.
In the second half of play, Loudoun United opened the scoring in the 90+1 with a goal from Loudoun forward Riley Bidois, assisted by Omari Glasgow. Glasgow and Bidois found themselves on a fast break against the Detroit defense. Using his speed and strength, Glasgow broke into the box and found Bidois for an easy tap-in to give Loudoun the late lead. This goal proved to be enough, allowing Loudoun United to clinch a playoff spot for the first time in club history.
