Match Recap | Indy Eleven vs. Loudoun United FC
Indianapolis, IN (Oct 18th, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club fails to pick up points in a 2-1 loss to Indy Eleven at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.
Match Summary
Following a two-hour delay due to weather in Indianapolis, the Red-and-White fell to Indy Eleven 2-1 in a rainy match at Michael A. Carroll Stadium. Loudoun United FC moves to 12-11-6 with 42 points. Indy Eleven opened the scoring early in the match, with Brendon Rendon tallying a goal in the 11th minute of play with a chip over the Loudoun United goalkeeper. That would be the only goal in the first half, and the Red-and-White would head into the locker room at halftime down 1-0.
Indy Eleven doubled their lead in the 54th minute of play with Brendon Rendon finding the back of the net once again, this time leaving the Loudoun United goalkeeper helpless with a well-placed shot from the top corner of the six-yard box. Loudoun United battled back, finding their first goal on the night just 10 minutes later when captain Drew Skundrich hit a shot from the top of the 18-yard box that took a few deflections off Indy defenders and ended up in the back of the net. Despite some strong late chances on goal from the Red-and-White, Indy Eleven would secure all three points in a rainy 2-1 final at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.
The Red-and-White return home to battle North Carolina FC next weekend at Segra Field for the USL Championship regular-season finale as both sides look to claim a top-four spot in the Eastern Conference.
Thoughts from the Club
Head Coach Ryan Martin on tonight’s result:
“Big learning lesson for us. Conceding that early on something we knew was coming is going to help this group learn. We fought and competed, but we were not very clinical or creative tonight, and it showed on the scoresheet. As we get ready for the playoffs, we need to tighten this stuff up. Another big match next weekend back at home to close out the regular season, let’s pack the house at Segra Field.”
Captain Drew Skundrich on hosting North Carolina next weekend:
“Biggest game of the year for us, and it’s a great preparation opportunity for the guys as we get ready for the playoffs. We must go in with a good mentality, and that starts at training this week. The results we want will come from that.”
