Match Preview – Loudoun United FC vs. North Carolina FC
Leesburg, VA (October 24th, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club hosts Eastern Conference rival North Carolina FC at Segra Field this Saturday, October 25th, in a USL Championship regular season finale.
The Matchup
In a matchup-up with home playoff match with implications for both sides, Loudoun United Football Club is set to host North Carolina FC for a 5:00 PM kickoff at Segra Field this Saturday, October 25th. The Red-and-White currently sit in 5th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 12-11-6 and 42 points. On the other side, North Carolina FC sits in 6th place in the East with the same record and points, but are in the lower spot due to their head-to-head record in league play this season against Loudoun United (0-1-0). The Red-and-White defeated NCFC on the road back in March, where goals from Abdellatif Aboukoura and Riley Bidois propelled Loudoun United to a 2-1 victory. North Carolina FC, however, took down Loudoun United in the final first-stage match of the USL Jägermeister Cup, winning the match in penalties (5-3). Both sides are looking to get all three points from this matchup, as the last two spots for hosting the first round of the USL Championship playoffs remain up in the air.
If Loudoun United wins and Pittsburgh or Hartford loses, the Red-and-White would jump up into the top four and host their first-ever playoff match at Segra Field on November 1st.
Players to look out for on Loudoun United FC include standout forwards Abdellatif Aboukoura, Quimi Ordonez, Zach Ryan, and Riley Bidois, who have a combined 26 goals in regular-season play this season. On the North Carolina FC side, Evan Conway leads his club with nine goals, followed closely by Pedro Dolabella, who has seven. Expect this to be a must-watch matchup this weekend as both clubs look to end the regular season on and head into the playoffs on a high note.
Thoughts from the Club
Head Coach Ryan Martin on a big regular season finale at Segra Field:
“Our mindset all year has been to take things one match at a time, and this match is no different. We want to put on a great show for our fans, who have supported us all season long, and it starts with us improving on last weekend’s result. Our fans haven’t seen us play at home since we clinched a playoff spot, so it’s an exciting time to be back in front of them here at Segra Field.”
Notes
Abdellatif Aboukoura leads the club in goals this season, with 12 in USL Championship regular-season play.
Florian Valot leads in assists, with eight thus far. Ben Mines sits just behind him with seven.
