Matthew hails from Preston, England, and brings an extensive portfolio of international coaching and technical leadership experience to the Revolution. With more than a decade dedicated to building high-performance environments, he has contributed to the game across multiple levels, including PA West ODP, NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer, and advanced youth development structures. His background also includes significant organizational leadership roles in Toledo, Ohio, where he oversaw program development, coach education, and long-term technical planning. Matthew is currently completing his UEFA A License, further strengthening his credentials at the highest standard of professional coaching.
Matthew’s coaching philosophy is grounded in evidence-based training methodology, long-term athlete development, and tactical periodization. He has a proven track record of elevating both players and coaches through structured development pathways and clear performance frameworks. Beyond on-field work, he is highly experienced in technical program design, curriculum implementation, and building strategic relationships with youth organizations, associations, and community partners.
His leadership is defined by professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to creating an environment that supports player progression, competitive excellence, and organizational cohesion.
