Scouting Report
Following a draw at Pittsburgh, City increased its Eastern Conference lead over Memphis 901 FC. Louisville City have already clinched a spot in the 2022 USL Championship Playoffs and look to solidify the No. 1 Seed. Although they sit atop of standings, Louisville City are 1-2-2 in their last 5 outings. Four of those outings have been against Eastern Conference opponents – Pittsburgh Riverhounds, FC Tulsa, Indy Eleven and The Miami FC.
Following a midweek tie against FC Tulsa, Head Coach Danny Cruz elected for five lineup changes against Pittsburgh Riverhounds to deter injuries and fatigue. LouCity have only lost one match at Lynn Family Stadium this season – losing 0-2 to Monterey Bay F.C. in late May.
This will be the second meeting between the Red-and-White and the boys in purple. In a 2-0 victory for the Kentucky-side at Segra Field, the home side saw multiple different faces in the lineup including four current D.C. United players – Sami Guediri, Jackson Hopkins, John Kempin and Ted Ku-DiPietro. Moses Nyeman, now with Belgian side SK Beveran, also featured in the match.
Goalkeeper Kyle Morton has claimed 12 clean sheets this season while forward Wilson Harris leads the attack with 11 goals.
Louisville recently announced that midfielder Niall McCabe would be unavailable for the fixture due to a season ending injury. His five assists on the year were tied for the team lead at the time of his injury.
