Leesburg, VA. (January 16, 2026) — Loudoun United FC announce that the club has acquired midfielder Christian Torres on loan from Chivas Guadalajara through the 2026 season, pending league and federation approval.
Torres, 21, joins Loudoun United after developing professionally in Major League Soccer with Los Angeles FC, where he made his debut at just 16 years old. Torres brings experience across MLS and the USL Championship, along with international experience at the youth level with Mexico.
“I’m really proud to be joining this club. It’s a place with strong values and big ambitions, and from the first conversation, it felt like the right step for me,” said Christian Torres. “I’m excited for this challenge, and I’m ready to work, grow, and give everything for the badge and the supporters.”
Torres began his youth career with the LA Galaxy academy before joining Los Angeles FC in 2018. During his first season with LAFC’s academy, Torres won the Golden Boot and the U-15 level after scoring 17 goals.
Torres signed a professional Homegrown Player contract with LAFC in 2020, becoming one of the first players to sign directly from the club’s academy. He made his MLS debut that same year and scored his first professional goal with a stoppage-time equalizer against the Portland Timbers. In November 2020, Torres became the youngest player in MLS history to start a playoff match.
“We’re thankful to Chivas Guadalajara, one of the most prestigious clubs in Mexico, for entrusting Loudoun United with Christian’s development,” said Alen Marcina, Sporting Director for Loudoun United FC. “He’s a top young player for us—hungry, highly motivated, and bringing a competitive edge that fits the identity we’re building. He has the quality to impact both sides of the ball and embraces the responsibility of wearing this badge.”
Torres made 11 appearances for LAFC’s first team and also featured for Los Angeles FC 2, continuing his development in a competitive professional environment. He also gained significant USL Championship experience during two loan spells with Las Vegas Lights FC, where he made 45 appearances and scored four goals.
Torres later continued his professional career in Mexico after joining Chivas Guadalajara, one of Liga MX’s most historic clubs, and competing with CD Tapatío. With Tapatío, Torres made appearances across league play while continuing his development in a high-performance environment within the Chivas system.
On the international stage, Torres has represented Mexico’s U-20 National Team, including appearances at the 2020 Revelations Cup, where Mexico won the tournament. He was also named to Mexico’s final roster for the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
“Christian is a highly creative attacking player, and we are delighted to be working with him this season,” said Anthony Limbrick, Head Coach of Loudoun United FC. “He offers great versatility across the attacking positions, and at just 21 years of age, he has significant potential for continued development during his time with Loudoun United FC.”
