Leesburg, VA (June 22, 2026) — Loudoun United FC travels to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, this Wednesday to face Charleston Battery in USL Championship action. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium, as Loudoun looks to build on a strong road performance and earn three points against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Matchup
Loudoun United enters Wednesday’s match following a 1-1 draw against Birmingham Legion FC at Protective Stadium. “We’ve been preparing for this match like we normally would. It’s a quick turnaround for us, having played on the weekend and then having the game on Wednesday. We’ve watched a lot of Charleston. They are a very good team. They’ve climbed the table in recent weeks and now find themselves in second, so they’re there for a reason. They’ve got a lot of attacking threats in the team. They’re good in terms of physicality as well—a strong, big team—but they also look to play, with some good rotations, and look to get bodies forward on the top line. We’ll have to defend very well in this game, but we feel like we’ve also got a lot of attacking threats and that we can score against them too, so we’re going in nice and positive. We had a good performance against Birmingham in a game that we probably should have won. We’ve said that a few times this season, but we did perform very, very well in that game. That gives us a lot of confidence going into the match, and hopefully, if we can replicate that performance again, it gives us a better chance of winning the game.”

Birmingham, AL (June 20, 2026) — Loudoun United FC earned a point on the road, playing Birmingham Legion FC to a 1-1 draw at Protective Stadium in USL Championship action. Abdellatif Aboukoura gave Loudoun the lead in the second half, but Birmingham found a late equalizer to split the points.

Match Summary
Birmingham opened the match looking to control possession and build through the middle of the field, while Loudoun remained organized defensively and looked for opportunities to attack quickly when the ball turned over.

The hosts saw more of the ball throughout the opening half, but Loudoun stayed disciplined and limited Birmingham’s ability to turn its possession into clear chances. Loudoun grew into the match and found success moving the ball into wide areas, testing the Birmingham back line with crosses into the box.

“I thought we had some really good moments in the first half, and I thought we should have gone into halftime leading. We probably just weren’t clinical enough in front of goal. They had a little bit more of the ball than us in the first half, but I thought we created the better chances and were probably the better team. In the second half, we did well to score a great goal, and I’m really pleased for Aboukoura after he came back from injury. It was the most minutes he has played since returning, so I was really pleased for him to score. We then tried to see the game out, but we ended up getting a little too deep. We didn’t want to get that deep. We wanted to keep attacking and try to get the second goal, but they put bodies forward and got into some good areas. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see it out at the end, so we’re disappointed to concede so late in the game. I feel like we deserved to win and should have won.”

“It felt very, very nice. It has been a long season coming back from surgery and injury, so it was nice to get that off my shoulders and just keep pushing. It was also good to get more minutes in the tank with the guys around me and continue building that chemistry with them. I think the result is frustrating because we could have and should have come away with the three points. This was a game we needed to win, but there were also a lot of positive signs from the group tonight. We fought together, and even though we didn’t get the three points, we can take that confidence into the next game.”

Leesburg, VA (June 13, 2026) — Loudoun United FC fell 4-1 to Rhode Island FC at Segra Field in USL Championship action. Loudoun controlled possession for long stretches and moved the ball well through the midfield, but Rhode Island capitalized in key moments to take all three points on the road.

Match Summary
Loudoun United opened that match looking to settle into possession and build through the middle of the field. The home side controlled the ball early and worked to create opportunities in the attacking third, while Rhode Island looked to break quickly when chances opened up. Rhode Island found the breakthrough in the 22nd minute, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead midway through the first half.

Loudoun continued to push after the opening goal. The home side created moments around the box and looked to use quick combinations to pull Rhode Island out of shape, but the visitors doubled their lead shortly after halftime in the 48th minute to make it 2-0. “I thought we started the game very well. I thought we were on the front foot. I thought we attacked for large periods in that first bit. We had two, I think, really good chances. We failed to convert them. But then after that, I think we lost our way a little bit, and that was disappointing. We conceded from a set player on the throw, which we weren’t happy with, and then just couldn’t get our rhythm back in the game. We changed a few things at halftime, a few players, and we were hoping that would get the desired effect. It didn’t. We conceded straight away after halftime, and then I think when you’re playing a good team like Rhode Island, who they are, a good team, big, physical, powerful, two goals from two mistakes from us, it makes it very difficult. Getting back in the game at 2-1, we obviously had to make the substitutions due to players coming back from injury. They could only play that amount of time in the minutes. So that made it difficult. I just felt that it was quite flat, and then obviously conceding the next two goals really took the stuffing out of the game. But yeah, with the positive start that we had, we wanted to continue that on for longer, but really disappointing we didn’t.”

Defender Jacob Erlandson on what needs to change moving forward:

“We need to be sharper in the moments that decide games. We had a lot of possession tonight, but we have to do more with it and be more dangerous when we get into the final third. Defensively, we have to take more pride in stopping chances before they become big moments. We have to be more switched on, win our duels, communicate better and make teams work harder for everything. The good thing is we know what needs to change, but now we have to respond the right way.”

Created as a lifestyle collection, Homegrown was designed for fans to wear well beyond match day. The pieces bring a more refined streetwear feel to Loudoun United apparel

For Gaelle Guyon, Loudoun United FC Manager of E-Commerce & Merchandise and the designer behind the Homegrown Collection, the idea started with one simple question: what would Loudoun United Gear look like if it was made for the rest of the week, not just the 90 minutes at Segra Field?

“The inspiration came from wanting to create an apparel line built for the lifestyle of a Loudoun local outside the stadium,” Guyon said. “We wanted pieces made to be worn every single day, all around Loudoun County. The goal was to design high-quality streetwear that looks just as natural styled out at a local vineyard or on the street as it does in the supporters’ section on a match night.”

The name Homegrown speaks directly to the collection’s roots. While the apparel was created by Loudoun United FC, the design focus is placed on the county itself.
