We’re not only asking our Loudoun United family to support our community, but also to stand behind one of our very own Hometown Heroes.
Elizabeth Ford, founder of BetterALife and a recipient of our Trevor Brown Award, is working to support nearly 60 Purcellville residents who have been displaced from their homes.
According to the Loudoun Times-Mirror, residents of the Purcellville East apartment complex were evacuated on October 29 after unsafe staircases were discovered across six buildings. Families are now staying in hotels in Leesburg, with no confirmed timeline for when they can return home.
Elizabeth has supported many of these families for years and is now helping coordinate meals, essential supplies, and transportation assistance.
Elizabeth has personally asked for our community’s help with:
- Gas gift cards
- Grocery and food gift cards
- Financial donations
- Any other assistance that can support these families
She is also organizing a volunteer meal preparation day to provide home-cooked dinners for displaced residents, with more information to follow.
If you’re able to donate, please consider doing so. If you can’t, sharing this post can make a difference.

Elizabeth was recognized as one of our Hometown Heroes because of her continued involvement and impact in Loudoun County. Now, we have an opportunity to support both her efforts and the families who need our help.
Loudoun, let’s come together.
