Leesburg, VA (October 22, 2026) — Loudoun United FC returns to Segra Field this Saturday, October 24, to host Brooklyn FC in its final match of the 2026 USL Championship season. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. ET as the Red-and-White look to close out their campaign with three points in front of their home fans.
The Matchup
Loudoun enters Saturday’s match following a 0-0 draw against Birmingham Legion FC on Sunday. Playing its third consecutive road match in eight days, the Red-and-White remained organized defensively and created several opportunities throughout the contest. Despite pushing for a winner in the closing minutes, Loudoun was unable to find the breakthrough and settled for a point in its final away match of the season.
The draw capped off a demanding stretch of three road matches that saw Loudoun earn a 2-0 victory over Miami FC, suffer a narrow 1-0 defeat to Rhode Island FC, and finish with a scoreless draw against Birmingham. After a busy week of travel, the Red-and-White will look to build on those performances as they return home for the final time in 2026.
Brooklyn FC comes into Saturday’s matchup following a 2-1 home defeat to Birmingham Legion FC on Wednesday. Brooklyn opened the scoring in the seventh minute, but Birmingham responded with two goals to secure the victory. The result followed Brooklyn’s 3-2 comeback win over Hartford Athletic on October 17, when the visitors overcame two deficits and scored a late winner despite playing with 10 men.
Saturday will mark the second meeting between Loudoun and Brooklyn this season. The two sides first met on May 9 at Maimonides Park, where Loudoun secured a 1-0 road victory. Thor Úlfarsson scored the lone goal in the 26th minute, heading home a free kick delivered by Pedro Santos. The Red-and-White held onto their lead through the second half to earn all three points and a clean sheet. With the 2026 season coming to a close, Loudoun will look to repeat its earlier result against Brooklyn and give its home supporters one final win.
Thoughts from the Club
Head Coach Anthony Limbrick on the team’s mentality heading into the final match of the season and what it will take to secure another victory against Brooklyn FC:
“There’s never been an issue with the attitude of this group. They’re always working hard and they’re always very professional. We had three long away trips recently, and we put in good performances with a win, a draw, and a loss. In terms of the performances and attitude, I was really pleased with the group. They’re motivated to win the last home game in front of our fans, and we want to put on a good performance and a good show to go into the offseason with a good feeling and build into next season. They’ve trained really well this week, and we’re looking forward to the game. Brooklyn can be a dangerous team. They’ve scored a few goals recently, they counterattack well, and they can score from crosses and shots from the edge of the box. We have to be aware of that, but we also have to dictate the game and take it to them. We have to get after them at home and make it a difficult final away game of the season.”
Notes
Abdellatif Aboukoura is one goal away from tying Zach Ryan for the most all-time goals in Loudoun United FC history across all competitions.
