Match Recap | Rhode Island FC vs. Loudoun United FC
Pawtucket, RI (August 9th, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club splits the points on the road with a 0-0 draw against Rhode Island FC.
Match Summary
The Red-and-White secure a point and move to 8-7-4 following a 0-0 draw against Rhode Island FC at Centreville Bank Stadium. It was all Rhode Island in the first 20 minutes of play as the home team tested Loudoun goalkeeper Hugo Fauroux early on with two shots on target and one off the crossbar. Despite finding their groove and getting some strong chances in the attacking third, Loudoun United failed to tally a shot on target in the first half of play. Thanks to some great goalkeeping from Fauroux, the Red-and-White would head into halftime in a 0-0 deadlock with the hosts, Rhode Island FC.
Following an up-and-down first half from the Red-and-White, Loudoun came out strong in the second half. First, it was Loudoun’s Abdellaitf Aboukoura who drove a strong shot from outside of the box that fell just wide of the right post in the 52nd minute of play. Then, just five minutes later, Loudoun bagged another great chance, this time from Quimi Ordonez on a pass from Omari Glasgow, that went just wide. Loudoun and Rhode Island continued to trade blows, with both of their new signees making big impacts quickly. Despite attacking chances from both sides, the match would end in a 0-0 draw.
The Red-and-White are back home at Segra Field next weekend to take on Indy Eleven.
