Loudoun United FC are set to kickoff the 2022 United Soccer League (USL) Championship Regular Season against Indy Eleven on Saturday, March 12 at 5:45 p.m. ET at Segra Field.

Loudoun United FC head into the 2022 USL season with a reinvigorated team. Loudoun United signed 10 new players in the offseason including MLS SuperDraft Picks Skage Simonsen and Rio Hope-Gund. Loudoun also welcomed the addition of Frédéric Brillant. Brillant joined Loudoun as an assistant coach following his retirement from professional soccer at D.C. United.

“I am very excited for the upcoming season. We have had a tremendous preseason and the staff has been great. The addition of Fred has been a massive upgrade for what we are building. The home opener is an exciting game to see where we are as a group in this journey. We are playing a top team with an experienced coach in Mark, who I have enjoyed watching from a far. There is not much more you want as a coach than to have a successful preseason with a talented and ambitious group. We are looking forward to the real test against a top team in the USL.”

Indy Eleven enters their fourth season in the USL Championship. Indy closed out their preseason slate last weekend defeating Chicago Fire 2-1. The come from behind win set themselves up an exciting match up at Segra Field. Indy Eleven turned their preseason around after a 1-1 draw against St. Louis City SC and a 2-0 defeat to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

Saturday will be the third time these two teams face each other in the USL Regular Season, with Indy Eleven leading the head-to-head with an all-time record of 2-0-1. The last time they met the Red-and-White won 4-1 at Segra Field on August 18, 2021.
