Loudoun United FC will play their twelfth match of the 2022 United Soccer League (USL) regular season against Charleston Battery on Saturday, May 28th at 6:45 PM EST at Segra Field. This will be the Red-and-White’s sixth home match of the season. Saturday’s matchup will be the seventh time these two teams face-off in the USL Championship. Loudoun United currently lead Charleston Battery by three points in the Eastern Conference Standings with one game in hand.

Loudoun United come off a 3-0 loss against Memphis 901 FC, who are currently first place in the USL Championship Eastern Conference. Rio Hope-Gund, Jacob Greene, and Nicky Downs are the only players to have started every match for Loudoun this season. The Red-and-White recently signed former D.C. United Homegrown, Jalen Robinson and D.C. United Academy product, Dane Jacomen. Loudoun currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference in overall passes (5,605) with an 81% passing accuracy.

About Charleston Battery
Charleston Battery is currently 1-8-1 and in last place in the USL Eastern Conference. The Charleston side come off a 4-0 home loss against Miami FC. With only one clean sheet this season, the Black-and-Yellow’s only win was against FC Tulsa in their home opener 76 days ago. Charleston have scored six goals on the season but have been shut out in their last three games. Saturday’s match will be their first away match since Wednesday, April 27th when they traveled to Protective Stadium to face Birmingham Legion FC. Charleston’s DZ Harmon is suspended and unavailable for Saturday’s match following his red card for two cautionable offenses against Detroit City FC on May 21.
