Leesburg, VA. (December 22, 2022) – Loudoun United FC announced today the club has re-signed goalkeeper Dane Jacomen.
“We are happy to have Dane [Jacomen] back for the 2023 season,” Ryan Martin, Loudoun United FC Head Coach, said. “He’s a talented shot stopper and has shown good composure building out of the back. He did well with his opportunities last season and continues to have a great work ethic. We are excited for him to take the next step in his professional journey with us.”
The Pittsburgh native joined Loudoun United FC after forgoing his final year of eligibility at the University of Pennsylvania. The six-foot-three-inch goalkeeper originally signed with Loudoun United in January of 2022, eventually joining the squad in late May.
The goalkeeper made his Red-and-White debut on September 25 against Indy Eleven, recording two saves. Jacomen made his professional debut in a short-loan stint with Charlotte Independence in late June, recording seven saves in two matches for the USL League One club.
“I can’t wait to be back for another ride in 2023,” Dane Jacomen said. “I will do everything I can to help this club continue to reach new heights. I’m grateful to Coach Ryan and the rest of the staff for believing in me.”
The D.C. United Academy product was awarded the 2021 USL League Two Golden Glove award while playing for West Chester United SC. Jacomen had an impressive run between the sticks in the 2021 League Two season only conceding five goals in 13 games played. In addition, the goalkeeper maintained .41 goals against average.
