Loudoun United FC look to get things back on track following a close competitive loss to Pittsburgh Riverhounds. One goal in the 78th minute separated the two squads on Sunday evening.
The Red-and-White’s starting XI saw six changes from their last USL Championship match including the return of defender Yanis Leerman from injury. Goalkeeper Dane Jacomen got the nod in net, recording one save against his hometown team.
Forward Zach Ryan was sidelined against Pittsburgh due to an injury against Hartford Athletic. The striker leads United with five goals, which is tied for the fifth highest in the league’s scoring charts.

Monterey Bay host Loudoun with only two-days of recovery following a midweek scoreless draw against FC Tulsa.
After stringing together, a month-long successful stretch that saw Monterey unbeaten in five consecutive league matches, the California-side ran into an injury bug. Monterey dropped two straight road matches, falling below the playoff line in the Western Conference standings.
Monterey Bay is tied in third place with most goals scored and currently holds the highest conversion rate in the league. Hugh Alexander Dixon leads the team with seven goals in 12 appearances.

This will be the Red-and-White’s second league match against Monterey. The first match ended in a 1-0 victory for the visitors at Segra Field, thanks to a second half stoppage time goal at Segra Field on July 30, 2022.
