Loudoun United FC continues to fight for a chance for post-season play, sitting in 11th place with 24 points. The Red-and-White enter Saturday’s match following a loss to Eastern Conference league leaders, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
Midfielder Kalil ElMedkhar recorded a goal, making it his fourth in his last five outings with Loudoun United FC.
United welcomed two new players on loan through the end of the 2023 season including defender Jacob Greene and midfielder Chris Hegardt. Both made their season debut on Saturday, September 9, starting the match against Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
Midfielder Houssou Landry will be unavailable for selection on Saturday due to yellow card accumulation.

Charleston Battery clinched their return to the USL Championship Playoffs on Saturday night with a 2-1 win against San Diego Loyal SC, taking the side past 50 points in the regular season. Ben Pirmann’s side is 4-1-0 in their last five outings.
Forward Augustine Williams leads the team in goals with 11, while Fidel Barajas leads the team with eight assists. Goalkeeper Trey Muse has kept four clean sheets, conceding 35 goals.

The Battery are undefeated against United in four previous meeting. Loudoun are 0-2-2 against Charleston Battery. In the latest edition, Charleston defeated Loudoun at Patriots Point Stadium 3-0 on June 30, 2023.

Saturday’s Salute to Service day kicks off with a pre-match game between the men’s soccer programs of Evergreen Christian School and Virginia Academy at 3:30 p.m. Fans must have a ticket to the LUFC vs. Charleston Battery match to attend.
Be one of the first 500 fans through the gates beginning at 5:45 p.m. to grab a limited edition LUFC camo hat. Fans are invited to arrive early to visit our Salute to Service setups on the concourse and enjoy face painting, live music and games. Halftime will feature a special on-field recognition of local military service members. As always, kids are invited onto the pitch pre-match for the high five tunnel and after the match to take a shot on goal. Players will also be available after the match to sign autographs.
