Post Match Conversations
Head Coach Ryan Martin on the match as a whole
- “I think we probably deserved more from the game. The guys defended really well. I thought we created a couple of really good looks…and we just have to be a little bit more clinical with it. We defended one of the top teams in the league very well; we gave [Will] Harris very little in front of goal”.
Head Coach Ryan Martin on the last three matches and upcoming fixtures
- “If you look at Memphis to Richmond, Richmond to Louisville, it is three very promising performances as a whole. Now it’s really about getting our guys fit, healthy and rested before we get ready to push again…before we really deal with the Open Cup”.
Zach Ryan on the positives from the match
- “I think we went about this challenge the right way. Going up against probably the best team we’ve faced so far, I thought we went toe to toe with them and created some really good chances, especially in the first half. I think this week was a week of growth”.
Jacob Erlandson on the team’s performance following a midweek match
- “I think in terms of mentality, you can shift your mind into tricking your legs that you have more left in them, and the whole group did that. Everyone came out with energy and showed energy throughout the game. It’s definitely rough to not get a result at the end of a hard week, but you have to take away the good things that you did throughout the week and build on those”.
