Match Preview: Loudoun United Football Club vs. Lexington SC
Leesburg, VA (May 8th, 2025) – Loudoun United FC is set to host USL Championship newcomers Lexington SC at Segra Field this Saturday, May 10th at 6:00 pm EST.
The Matchup
Loudoun United Football Club (6-2-0) plays host to Lexington SC (1-3-4) at Segra Field this Saturday, May 10, for a USL Championship regular season match. The Red-and-White currently sit in first place in the Eastern Conference with 18 points, while USL Championship newcomers Lexington SC sit in 12th place in the Western Conference with just seven points. These two clubs have faced off only once before, exactly two weeks ago in the USL Jägermeister Cup, when Loudoun United snuck away with a 1-0 win thanks to a 90+6’ match-winning header by defender Joshua Erlandson.
Both clubs are looking to rebound from losses in Week 9. Loudoun failed to secure a point against Las Vegas Lights FC on the road, while Lexington fell 2-0 to Louisville City, also away. For Loudoun, the key will be getting offensive weapons Abdellatif Aboukoura, Wesley Leggett, Zach Ryan, and Riley Bidois involved in creating chances early.
Lexington SC is looking to pick up its second win of the USL Championship season. The league newcomers won their season opener on March 8, but have since recorded four draws and three losses in league play. To secure their first win since early March and break Loudoun United’s home win streak, Lexington will need Marcus Epps, Cory Burke, and Devon “Speedy” Williams to get active on the ball.
Thoughts from the Club
Ryan Martin on facing Lexington SC this weekend:
“We are looking to bounce back after last weekend’s result against Las Vegas. It’s about how we respond when things don’t go our way. This response against Lexington, at home, is key and we need to just focus on our game, play our way, and create strong chances in the attacking third.”
Notes
Lexington’s Forster Ajago is serving a suspension and will be unavailable for selection.
Loudoun United FC looks to remain undefeated at Segra Field in the 2025 season.
Tommy McCabe reached 10,000 career USL Championship minutes last weekend.
Hugo Fauroux is two saves away from 150 career USL Championship saves.
Abdellatif Aboukoura sits tied for second place in goals this season with six.
