Leesburg, VA (October 8, 2026) — Loudoun United FC hits the road this Saturday for a trip to South Florida to take on Miami FC. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Pitbull Stadium as the Red-and-White look to pick up three points in the first of three consecutive matches away from home.
The Matchup
Loudoun enters Saturday’s match following a 1-1 draw against Indy Eleven at Segra Field. After Indy took the lead, the Red-and-White continued to push for an equalizer into the closing minutes. Goalkeeper Jordan Farr delivered in stoppage time, heading home the tying goal to become the first goalkeeper in Loudoun United history to score and secure a point for the club.
Miami FC comes into the weekend on a four-match winning streak following a 2-1 road victory over the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Miami opened the scoring before Tampa Bay responded to level the match, but Miami found the winner in the 60th minute to give them all three points. The result continued a strong late-season run for Miami as the club pushes for a spot in the USL Championship Playoffs.
Saturday will mark the second meeting between Loudoun and Miami this season. The two sides played to a 0-0 draw at Segra Field on March 21, with both teams creating opportunities but unable to find a breakthrough.
With the regular season entering its final weeks, Loudoun will look to start its three-match road stretch on a positive note. The Red-and-White will aim to build off the fight shown late against Indy, create opportunities in the final third and come away from South Florida with three points.
Thoughts from the Club
Anthony Limbrick on the upcoming road matchup against Miami FC and the team’s focus heading into the final stretch of the season:
“We’re really looking forward to the game against Miami. They’re a good side coming off a win against the top team in the table last week, so we know it’ll be a tough challenge. The last time we played them at home, it was an entertaining 0-0 draw with plenty of chances for both teams. We felt we should have scored, but they had their opportunities as well. Despite the position we’re in, there’s still a lot to play for. We’re also looking ahead to next season and evaluating where we want to go as a team, but our focus is still on going into every game and trying to win. We want to put our best foot forward in Miami and come away with three points.”
Notes
Bolu Akinyode is two appearances away from reaching 300 career appearances across all USL competitions.
