Throughout his youth, Tingey played for the Ballistic United youth team as well as the San Jose Earthquakes academy, where he played for three years and trained with their first team in 2017 and 2018. Tingey went on to play for Stanford University from 2019-2022 where he made 66 appearances, scoring three goals and recording 16 assists. After graduating, Tingey returned to the San Jose Earthquakes on a homegrown contract in 2023. He went on to make 23 appearances for San Jose Earthquakes II in the MLS Next Pro League. In his early soccer career, Leerman played in France for the youth academy of Troyes from 2004-2014 and then played in the lower leagues of France with RCS La Chapelle and Troyes. In 2018, he came to the United States and attended the University of Central Florida where he made 60 appearances. In his Junior year, Leerman became just the 9th All-American in UCF men’s soccer history.
