Leesburg, VA. (May 2, 2024) – Loudoun United FC today announced that the club has signed Pape Amadou Wane to a one-year contract with an option for the 2025 season.
The Senegalese native was the top goal scorer for the Universite Club de Thies U20 team. The Universite Club de Thies first team participates in the Senegal Ligue 2 division. Wane has additionally participated in the Senegalese Youth National Team program for his respective age group.
“We are excited to welcome Pape to Loudoun. He is an explosive, dynamic young attacking piece who we think will help create a lot of goals for us.” said Head Coach Ryan Martin. “He has the ability to take on defenders 1 v 1 off the dribble or run in behind off the pass. He comes from an exceptionally strong academy, and I look forward to working with him!”.
Wane will be eligible to participate in this weekend’s USL Championship match against Detroit City FC, and is also available for the midweek U.S. Open Cup match against Orange County SC.
