Head Coach of Loudoun United FC Richie Williams
On overall team performance:
I thought it was a good team performance. Getting a point on the road is a good result, and our first point in the history of Loudoun United which is monumental. I thought the guys played well, being on the road is never easy but there is certain parts of the game I thought we improved on since last week. We were passing efficiently and created some great chances. Defensively we held our own and maybe on another day we could have gotten all three points but we are happy with the results from today’s match.
On Griffin Yow’s performance:
Griffin did a great job, it isn’t easy for a young player but he came out and showed he was able to compete. He is a very aggressive and talented player and he showed that by scoring the first goal in club history. I thought he did very well, he is still going to continue to grow and develop but he has a very bright future ahead of him.
Improvements leading into the next match against Tampa:
We have to continue to grow as a team and overall on both sides of the ball. Little by little as the players get more experience and get comfortable together, we will see more and more positive results down the road.
Starting Forward Griffin Yow
On scoring Loudoun’s first goal in club history:
It is a great feeling, it’s amazing to get one point in. Not only my goal but it was a great team performance overall. I think tonight’s match will give us a lot of confidence moving forward.
On overall team performance:
I think that this game really got a lot of the nerves out and gives us a lot of confidence going into Tampa. In the second half although we gave up a goal we started to play the way we like to play and I am excited to put on a great performance in Tampa.
