Loudoun United FC have acquired midfielder Noah Pilato for their inaugural season in the USL Championship pending league and federation approval.
Noah Pilato grew up in Northern Virginia and went to Oakton High School in Vienna. Growing up, Pilato played for the D.C. United Academy and scored two goals and recorded six assists in 14 matches in 2013. In his high school career, he was named captain his senior year and scored twice and earned 14 assists that season; earning playoff MVP honors and an All-Met Second Team selection after leading Oakton to a conference title.
In 2014, Pilato committed to Penn State University and appeared in 48 games, totaling 2,314 minutes on the pitch. In Pilato’s redshirt junior year, he saw action in seven matches and put two shots on net before being sidelined due to injury. After recovering from his injury, he appeared in all 17 matches and started 10 of them in his final season. He scored his first career goal at the University of Maryland on Oct. 23 to tie the match and head into overtime.
Pilato was joined by one other player from the open tryouts held in February. He spent two weeks trialing with the team before being officially signed. Pilato saw action in both preseason scrimmages against Bethlehem Steel FC and the Richmond Kickers. With deep ties with the D.C. United Academy in high school, he also interned at D.C. United in the Sales Department to earn school credit his senior year at Penn State.
