Match Summary
Loudoun United Football Club moved to 8-5-2 following a 0-0 draw against Orange County SC at Segra Field. The first half featured scoring chances from both clubs, but neither side was able to break through onto the scoresheet. The Red-and-White started strong, maintaining possession and recording two shots in the first ten minutes of play. In the 32nd minute, Loudoun’s Zach Ryan received a straight red card, forcing the Red-and-White to play with just 10 men for the remainder of the match. Both teams headed into the locker room tied 0-0.
Loudoun United battled hard in the second half, with goalkeeper Hugo Fauroux posting his third clean sheet of the USL Championship regular season. The Red-and-Whites’ best chance came from Wesley Leggett, who had a goal called back following a tight out-of-bounds call. Orange County SC pressed late in stoppage time, but Fauroux came up clutch in the final minutes to keep the match scoreless. The contest ended in a 0-0 draw, with both teams taking home a point.

“Obviously some tough circumstances, but the guys really battled hard in the second half, and it was important to come out with a point here. We had some great chances on goal, even down a man, so we wished we got one for the fans, but now it’s all eyes on Pittsburgh next week.”

Zach Ryan’s red card will keep him out of the club’s next match against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on July 13th.
