Leesburg, VA (July 11th, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club hits the road to take on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at Highmark Stadium this Sunday, July 13th at 5:00 PM on CBS Sports Network and Sirius XM Radio.
The Matchup
Loudoun United Football Club currently sits in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 8-5-2 and 26 points. The Red-and-White look to find their stride again following a 0-0 draw against Orange County SC on July 3rd, and tallying just eight points in their last eight matches. On the other side, Pittsburgh Riverhounds (6-6-2) sits in 5th place in the Eastern Conference with 20 points. The Riverhounds look to extend their win streak to three matches, coming off back-to-back wins over New Mexico United and Tampa Bay Rowdies. These two clubs met back in April at Segra Field, where Loudoun handed Pittsburgh a 2-1 loss, with goals from Loudoun’s Wesley Leggett and Abdellatif Aboukoura, and then Pittsburgh’s Jorge Garcia.

Loudoun’s Abdellatif Aboukoura is a player to watch out for on the Red-and-White. With a league-leading 11 goals thus far, Aboukoura has been dangerous inside the attacking third. On the other side, Pittsburgh’s Robbie Mertz and Daniel Griffin lead their club with three goals apiece in league play. As exciting as goal-scoring is, this is also a matchup of some of the best goalkeepers in the league. “Can’t be taking silly red cards, so discipline will be a big focus heading into Sunday’s match (against Pittsburgh). Bob (Lilley) does a tremendous job up there, and they are a tough team to play. For us, it will be about sticking to our game and looking to get good chances in the attacking third.”
