Loudoun United Football Club (11-9-6) currently sits in 4th place in the Eastern Conference with 39 points. The Red-and-White are coming off a 2-2 draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Segra Field and look to clinch a first-ever playoff spot this weekend against Birmingham Legion FC (Loudoun United clinching scenarios, see below). Birmingham Legion sits in 11th place in the East with a record of 4-11-11 and 23 points. The Legion is coming off a 1-1 draw against 3rd place North Carolina FC and has not won a match in league play since mid-July. The last time these two clubs faced off was back in the season opener, where Loudoun United took home all three points in a 3-1 win at Protective Stadium.

“We are sitting in a good position, but there is still a lot of work to do here. Birmingham Legion is also fighting to clinch a spot in the playoffs, so we are expecting a battle here at Segra Field. We know how dangerous they (Birmingham Legion) can be on the counterattack, so for us, this week has been about preparation and focus.”
