Leesburg, VA (September 17, 2026) — Loudoun United FC continues its road stretch this Saturday with a trip to Kentucky to take on Louisville City FC. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET at Lynn Family Stadium as the Red-and-White look to respond and pick up three points on the road.
The Matchup
Loudoun enters Saturday’s match following a 1-0 loss against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at F.N.B. Stadium. Pittsburgh opened the scoring in the eighth minute, but Loudoun continued to push for an equalizer throughout the night. Loudoun created several opportunities, including a first-half effort from Eddy Davis III that struck the post, but was unable to find the breakthrough.
Louisville comes into the weekend following a 2-1 home loss against El Paso Locomotive FC. El Paso scored twice in the first half before Louisville pulled one back in the 77th minute. Louisville continued to push late but was unable to find an equalizer as El Paso left Lynn Family Stadium with all three points.
Saturday will mark the second meeting between Loudoun and Louisville this season. The two sides played to an entertaining 3-3 draw at Segra Field on April 10. Thor Úlfarsson scored twice for the Red-and-White before Bolu Akinyode gave Loudoun a 3-2 advantage in the second half. Louisville responded in the 72nd minute to level the match and split the points.
Loudoun will look to build on the chances created in Pittsburgh while putting together a complete performance against a familiar Louisville side. With another road test ahead, the Red-and-White will look to stay organized, capitalize on opportunities in the attacking third and turn a strong performance into a result.

“Obviously, it’s a tough place to go and a tough trip at a good stadium. Although they’ve probably been struggling compared to where they were last season, I still think they’re a very strong team, especially at home. They have a clear formation and a clear style of play. We’ll have to make sure we match up physically because they’re a strong team and very good on set pieces. We’ll have to handle that well, but we also feel there are some openings we can exploit with the type of players we have. We’ve been working on that this week, and hopefully we can put it into practice on Saturday.”
