
LEESBURG, VA – In front of a crowd of 4,007 fans, Loudoun United FC completed the comeback win over FC Tulsa at Segra Field. The Red-and-White claimed their first-ever win over the Oklahoma-side thanks to two goals from forward Zach Ryan.
The Friday night match between the two Eastern Conference foes featured three goals in the first 23 minutes of action. Loudoun United conceded a penalty in the 3rd minute of the match.
Heavy pressure helped United score an equalizer in the 18th minute. Defender Koa Santos whipped in a dangerous cross that resulted in an own goal to level things at 1-1.
Five minutes later, Loudoun took the lead following a shot from Zach Ryan for his first of the night.
In the 52nd minute, Loudoun United earned a penalty of their own following a great run by Houssou Landry. Zach Ryan took the spot kick, which was initially saved by Tulsa’s goalkeeper but Ryan followed up to finish off the rebound.
Dane Jacomen started in goal and made two big saves at the end of the match to keep the two-goal lead.
