Loudoun United Annouce Exciting Changes Ahead of 2023 Season
Leesburg, V.A. (Mar. 9, 2023) – As the team prepares to face defending USL Championship title holders San Antonio FC in their home opener on Sunday, March 19 at Segra Field, Loudoun United FC (LUFC) have announced several upgrades to the fan experience ahead of the 2023 season at Segra Field.
“We are committed to increasing access to fun and affordable, family-friendly entertainment, and are excited to introduce new programs and activities to enhance the match day fan experience at Segra Field,” said Doug Raftery, Executive Business Officer of LUFC.
Below is an overview of the upgrades coming in 2023.
Fun For Fans
Starting 60 minutes before kickoff, fans can enjoy several entertainment options on the concourse. For music lovers, this season will feature a rotation of DJ Randy and local musicians. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy games, face painting, balloon artists, vendors, photo opportunities and more. Concourse activities will change throughout the season and reflect match day themes.
Fans ages 21 and up will be able to enjoy drinks in the LoCo Craft Corner, featuring local craft beers, and head to the newly created LUFC Beer Garden to lounge in the shade. The new LUFC mascot, a pony donning Pegasus wings, will also be on-site for a majority of matches this year.
After matches, players will be available for autographs and kids are invited to the post-match kids kick on the field.
Home Opener Celebration
The 2023 Home Opener will be held on Sunday, March 19 at 3:45 p.m. At the match, fans will enjoy a limited-edition Home Opener banner giveaway, pyrotechnics lighting up the stadium leading up to kickoff, pre-game live music in the mix with DJ Randy, drink specials, updated Kids Zone and a free 2023 LUFC schedule magnet.
Theme Nights and Fireworks
For the first time in club history, there will be three post-match fireworks shows (Friday, June 9, Monday, July 3, and Saturday, October 7). Theme nights this year are focused on family-friendly promotions. The first half of the promotional schedule includes an egg hunt and Easter Bunny appearance on Saturday, April 1 and the End of School Bash on Friday, June 9. Celebratory Smoke
Known as a key piece in soccer celebrations, red smoke will commemorate LUFC goals this season. This marks the first year that smoke will make an appearance at LUFC matches and will be in conjunction with the club supporter section, the Stampede.
New Party Zone
A newcomer to Segra Field this season is the Pitch Level Party Zone (PLPZ). Groups are invited to enjoy the semi-private space, which includes cocktail tables and seating, in addition to seats in section 107. The PLPZ also features a private bar and bartender, food and select beverages through halftime.
Concessions
LUFC has reached an agreement with Travinia Italian Kitchen to serve as a concessions partner. Travinia will oversee part of the concessions service on the concourse, while also providing first-class buffet service in the VIP Hospitality area. The club is identifying additional vendors to provide a variety of food at matches on the concourse throughout the season, including food trucks.

Merchandise
Enhancements have been made to LUFC merchandise, including a more fan-friendly setup along with new gear additions, increasing inventory for fans of the Red-and-White to enjoy!
