Loudoun United FC are proud to partner with Team Mathias and Max Cure Foundation for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Every day across the United States, 43 children will be diagnosed along side of their family. Loudoun United and these two foundations will strive to help better the lives of the families affected by raising funds and awareness for the cause.
Launching the initiative #GoldUnited, Team Mathias and Max Cure have teamed up to use soccer as a way to spread awareness of their foundations. The two will be part of a special match on September 28, at 7:30PM at Segra Field. In their efforts to support the fight against childhood cancer, funds raised at the game will be divided equally and used to provide financial support to families with a child in active treatment, fund translation research and raise critical awareness of childhood cancer.
The night includes a pregame tailgate with Loudoun United’s supporters group, The Stampede; a raffle to take penalty kicks on the field after the game; and a donation to Max Cure Foundation’s Jonathan Agin to take shots on a Loudoun United goalkeeper at halftime. LUFC will also be giving out branded t-shirts to fans when a donation is made in the foundations’ honor.
The raffle tickets for the post match PKs will be available for purchase at the Team Mathias tent in the main plaza in front of the suite, and will be sold in the stands during the first half. At halftime, 12 winners will be announced to go on field post game to take their shot. Winners will be asked to show their ticket at the PA booth next to Section 108 upon announcement. Tickets will be $1, and each person that gets a donation will receive a prize.
Tickets can be purchased here for a discounted price with $5 of each ticket sold donated to the Max Cure Foundation and Team Mathias.
