Loudoun United return to U.S Open Cup play, facing off against Major League Soccer side LAFC on Tuesday, May 21 at 10:30pm ET in the Round of 16.

In the Round of 32, Loudoun United defeated fellow USL Championship side Orange County SC by a score of 2-1. LAFC faced off against Las Vegas Lights FC, coming away with a 3-1 win. One important factor may be rest time; LAFC’s last match took place on Saturday, May 11, while Loudoun’s last match was Saturday, May 18. Denis Bouanga currently has eight goals and five assists through 13 MLS matches for LAFC, however he was held scoreless against Las Vegas. For Loudoun, Dane Jacomen has one clean sheet through two U.S. Open cup matches, saving one penalty kick against the Richmond Kickers and another penalty against Orange County. On the attacking side, Wesley Leggett has four goals this season, two in open cup play and two in USL Championship play.
