The Matchup
Loudoun United Football Club (7-3-0) sits in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference with 21 points and is coming off a big home win against Louisville City FC in the USL Jägermeister Cup. Charleston Battery sits in 1st place in the East with a record of 8-2-0 and 24 points so far this season. Charleston is coming off a tough 1-0 loss in the USL Jägermeister Cup to League One side Greenville Triumph.
The Red-and-White look to remain undefeated at home this season, having scored 17 goals and posting a 6-0-0 record across all competitions played at Segra Field. Charleston, looking to spoil Loudoun’s unbeaten home streak, is 3-1-0 in league play on the road this season and has won its last seven league matches in a row.
Players to watch on the Loudoun offense include Abdellatif Aboukoura, who just recorded his 10th goal of the year across all competitions, Zach Ryan, and Florian Valot (five assists). On the other side, Charleston’s Cal Jennings currently leads the Golden Boot race with 11 goals in USL Championship play. Paired with Matt Myers (five goals) and Juan Torres (five assists), Charleston’s offense has been relentless so far in the 2025 season.
