Leesburg, VA (August 16th, 2025) – Loudoun United Football Club gets back in the win column with a 3-2 comeback victory over Indy Eleven at Segra Field.
Match Summary
The Red-and-White move back into 3rd place in the Eastern Conference with a 3-2 comeback win over Indy Eleven at Segra Field. Loudoun United, now 9-7-4, secured its first win in league play since June 14th and now sits in 3rd place with 31 points. Loudoun United came out firing on all cylinders in the first half of play at Segra Field, tallying nine shots (two on goal) in the first 20 minutes. Their best early chance came from Abdellatif Aboukoura, who nailed the crossbar with a strong volley from close range. Despite neither side finding the back of the net in the first half, the Red-and-White dominated possession with 61% and shots with 16, giving them a good feeling heading into the locker room for halftime.
Buckle up for an insane second-half write-up. Indy Eleven opened the scoring in the 50th minute of play, when James Musa snuck a deflected header past Loudoun’s keeper Hugo Fauroux off the Indy corner kick. Then, in the 59th minute, Loudoun’s Quimi Ordóñez subbed into the match and instantly made an impact. Just four minutes after subbing in, Ordóñez bagged his first goal in the Red-and-White in the 63rd minute to level the match at 1-1. Just 14 minutes later, Indy’s Elvis Amoh found himself on the breakaway and gave Indy the lead once again. However, just four minutes later, Loudoun found another equalizer, this time from Zach Ryan in the 82nd minute. Loudoun’s Keegan Tingey sent a cross into the box that found Ryan’s foot and then the back of the Indy net. Just when you thought the drama was over, in the 86th minute, Quimi Ordóñez found the back of the net again, his second goal on the night to give the Red-and-White their first lead of the match. The final whistle would blow with a final score of 3-2, with Loudoun getting back in the win column just when they needed to.
