Leesburg, VA. (January 5, 2026) – Loudoun United FC announce that the club has signed North Carolina FC defender Ezra Armstrong to a two-year contract, pending league and federation approval.
Armstrong, 27, joins the Red-and-White after a standout 2024 season with North Carolina FC, where he was named to the USL Championship All-League Second Team and earned six USL Championship Team of the Week selections. He appeared in 30 matches, logging 2,363 minutes, scoring five goals, and adding six assists while creating 24 chances. Defensively, Armstrong won 39 tackles and 155 duels and recorded 38 interceptions, solidifying himself as one of the league’s most dynamic two-way players. In this past campaign, Armstrong was limited to only three appearances after suffering an early-season ending injury at the end of March.

Prior to joining North Carolina FC, Armstrong made 41 appearances across two seasons with St. Louis City SC 2, tallying seven assists. He made his professional debut in 2016 with Swope Park Rangers, and later spent time overseas with clubs in Germany and Denmark before returning to the United States to join St. Louis.

Armstrong is the son of former U.S. Men’s National Team defender, Desmond Armstrong. His brother, Dida Armstrong, signed last week with new USL Championship team Sporting Club Jacksonville.
