

Leesburg, VA (April 23, 2026) — Loudoun United FC has signed goalkeeper Avery Strohecker and defender Aleksia Christensen to its USL W team for the 2026 season, pending league and federation approval.
Strohecker joins the club following her transfer to the University of Dayton after beginning her collegiate career at Seton Hall University. During her time with the Pirates, Strohecker appeared in 17 matches, recording 40 saves and posting a 0.800 save percentage, including a career-high seven saves against Providence. Prior to her collegiate career, Strohecker developed locally with TSJ FC Virginia and Freedom High School, where she captained the program and earned all-district, all-league, and all-met honors. She set a school record with 25 saves in a single match and finished her senior season with 82 saves and a 0.82 goals against average. A U-17 National Champion with TSJ FC Virginia and a three-time Mid-Atlantic Talent ID participant, Strohecker brings both high-level experience and strong local ties to Loudoun’s squad.

Christensen arrives after beginning her collegiate career at the University of Oklahoma before transferring to Furman University. The Virginia native is a versatile outside back known for her athleticism and ability to contribute on both sides of the ball. At Briar Woods High School, Christensen was a standout performer, earning all-state honors as a senior while also being named a 2023 United Soccer Coaches Youth All-American. A two-time all-region and three-time all-district selection, she captained her high school program and helped lead the team to multiple state tournament appearances. At the club level, she competed with TSJ FC Virginia, where she gained national recognition and helped her team capture a national championship. She also earned multiple invitations to Mid-Atlantic and national Talent ID camps.
