
Leesburg, VA (May 1, 2026) — Loudoun United FC has signed defenders Caden McGee and Greyso Basso, midfielder Owen Rich, and goalkeeper Lorenzo Herrera-Rauda to its USL Two team for the 2026 season, pending league and federation approval.
McGee joins Loudoun United as one of the youngest players in the group and continues his development through the local pathway. A defender from the VRSC Academy, McGee has already earned valuable experience in a professional environment after training with Loudoun United’s First Team during preseason. He also competes for PVI varsity soccer, adding another high-level setting to his development as he continues to progress through the local player pathway.
“Caden is also coming from VA Revolution U17’s, once again proving the pathway truly exists for those who can positively impact the group,” said Loudoun United USL Two Head Coach Matthew Mountford. “Caden has demonstrated the qualities needed to perform at the next level, and we are delighted to give him this exposure to collegiate programs nationwide as he seeks to progress.”

Basso joins Loudoun United after gaining experience in competitive environments both locally and internationally. A defender most recently with Grove United, Basso was identified through Loudoun United’s invitational tryouts and went on to train with the First Team during preseason, where he appeared in multiple preseason matches. He also brings international experience from Gibraltar, including time with FC Europa, Mons Calpe Reserves and Lions Gibraltar. Across his career, Basso has logged experience in the Gibraltar Football League, Intermediate League, Intermediate Cup and Championship Group, giving Loudoun another seasoned defensive option for the 2026 USL Two season.
“Greyson joins us from FC Europa in Gibraltar,” said Loudoun United USL Two Head Coach Matthew Mountford. “He was identified at the invitational tryouts and has trained with the First Team, playing multiple games in the preseason. He brings a wealth of experience to the group and we look forward to seeing his impact this season.”

Rich signs with Loudoun United after making his mark in the local soccer community. A midfielder currently at BYU, Rich has spent the last several seasons competing with the club’s former UPSL team, building a strong connection with Loudoun supporters and the local game. Known for his mobility, work rate and energy in the center of the pitch, Rich brings another dynamic midfield option to Loudoun United’s USL Two roster.
“Owen is no stranger to the local community, having starred for the UPSL team over the last couple of seasons,” said Loudoun United USL Two Head Coach Matthew Mountford. “Currently at BYU, he will bring mobility and energy to the heart of the midfield and we are excited to help him progress. We know he will be a fan favorite given his time with the previous team and connection with the club.”

Herrera-Rauda joins Loudoun United’s USL Two team as a product of the club’s player pathway. The goalkeeper continues his progression within the organization after gaining valuable experience during the 2025 season, when he featured in Loudoun United’s matchday squad four times, including during the club’s playoff run. Herrera-Rauda also earned minutes with Virginia Dream in both the NPSL and UPSL, giving him added competitive experience as he continues to grow in goal.
“Lorenzo joins us from his stints with the First Team and is a very experienced goalkeeper,” said Loudoun United USL Two Head Coach Matthew Mountford. “With a big presence between the posts, we know fans will enjoy watching his agility and shot-stopping ability along with his big personality.”
