Leesburg, VA (May 14, 2026) — Loudoun United FC has signed midfielder Ameya Iyer to its USL Two team for the 2026 season, pending league and federation approval.
Ameya joins Loudoun United continuing his development through the local pathway. A midfielder for Virginia Revolution’s MLS NEXT, Iyer already has experience in a professional environment after training with Loudoun United’s First Team during preseason and also playing in multiple preseason matches.
“Ameya joins the group after an impressive club season which sees his MLS Next team competing in Utah,” said Loudoun United FC USL Two Head Coach Matthew Mountford. “We always want to promote top young players from our academy, but only if they are ready and able to cope with the challenges and demands of being in this environment. Ameya displays all the qualities we want to highlight in the group and we look forward to seeing his continued development.”
