Leesburg, VA (July 30, 2026) – Loudoun United FC returns to Segra Field this Saturday, August 1, to host Hartford Athletic in USL Championship action. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET as the Red-and-White look to build on last weekend’s road victory and earn another important result in front of their home supporters.
The Matchup
Loudoun enters Saturday’s match with momentum following a 1-0 road victory against Indy Eleven. Abdellatif Aboukoura scored the match-winning goal in the second half, while goalkeeper Ethan Bandré and the Loudoun back line remained organized to secure the clean sheet and all three points.
The Red-and-White are unbeaten in their last two USL Championship matches after also earning a 1-1 draw against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Segra Field. Loudoun produced strong performances in both matches and will look to carry that confidence into Saturday’s Eastern Conference matchup.
Hartford travels to Leesburg following a scoreless draw against Phoenix Rising FC. The visitors have proven difficult to break down throughout the season. Hartford’s physicality, athleticism and aggressive high press will present another challenge for Loudoun. Saturday will be the second meeting between the two sides this season. Loudoun and Hartford played to a 0-0 draw on April 18 in a physical match that saw both teams remain disciplined defensively and limit clear opportunities in front of goal.
Loudoun will need to remain composed against Hartford’s pressure and find ways to play through the visitors’ press. On the other end of the field, the Red-and-White will look to defend collectively, limit opportunities for Hartford’s forwards and attack with urgency when space becomes available.

“It is going to be a tough game against Hartford. They are a very physical team with a lot of athletic players and two quick strikers. They are aggressive and look to press high, so we have been focusing on those areas throughout the week. We want to build on the positive performances we have had. We earned a strong win away at Indy last week and also played really well at home against Tampa Bay, who were at the top of the table, so we go into the game with confidence. We want to take the game to Hartford, get on the front foot and try to expose the areas where we feel we can hurt them. We will also have to defend well as a full team to get something from the game and push for the win in front of our home fans.”
