
Leesburg, VA (September 3, 2026) — Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy has recalled defender Ascel Essengue from his loan to Loudoun United FC in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship.
Essengue joined Loudoun United FC on loan from LA Galaxy in March for the 2026 season. During his time with the Red-and-White, the 23-year-old defender made 10 USL Championship appearances, starting all 10 and logging 839 minutes for the club. Prior to joining Loudoun, Essengue spent the 2025 season on loan with Phoenix Rising FC after developing within the LA Galaxy organization. The Cameroonian defender signed a First Team contract with the Galaxy ahead of the 2025 season after previously featuring for the club’s second team, Ventura County FC.
